Trauma Therapy for Young People
Compassionate Support for Children, Adolescents and Caregivers
Young people impacted by trauma may experience overwhelming emotions, anxiety, and behavioural changes that affect their relationships, development, and education. Whether the trauma stems from adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), loss, violence, or life-altering events, early and sensitive intervention is key to their recovery.
Our trauma therapy services offer a safe, supportive environment where healing can begin at the young person’s own pace. With evidence-based approaches tailored to developmental needs, we help children and adolescents:
- Reduce PTSD and anxiety symptoms
- Improve emotional regulation
- Develop effective coping strategies
- Rebuild a sense of safety and resilience
By fostering a space of trust, understanding, and professional guidance, we empower young people to move beyond trauma and embrace a healthier, more hopeful future.
Children’s Accelerated Trauma Technique (CATT)
CATT is a structured, evidence-based therapy that integrates trauma-focused CBT, creative storytelling, and exposure therapy. It helps children process trauma through drawing, narration, and age-appropriate techniques—particularly useful for those who struggle to verbalise their experience using gradual exposure to help them reframe distressing memories and reduce symptoms of (PTSD), anxiety, and emotional dysregulation.
Trauma Focused CBT for Young People and Families (TF-CBT)
TF-CBT is an evidence-based therapy supporting children, adolescents, and their families recover from trauma. It combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with gradual exposure and coping strategies to reduce symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, and depression. TF-CBT also involves caregivers, providing them with tools to support their child’s healing. This structured approach helps young people process traumatic experiences, build resilience, and develop healthy emotional and behavioural responses.
EMDR
EMDR is a structured, evidence-based therapy that helps young people process and heal from traumatic experiences. Using guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation, EMDR allows the brain to reprocess distressing memories, reducing their emotional impact. This approach helps children and adolescents develop healthier coping mechanisms, decrease anxiety, and build resilience, enabling them to move forward with greater confidence and emotional well-being.
KIDSNET (Narrative Exposure)
KIDSNET is a structured, evidence-based therapy designed to help children and young people process and heal from traumatic experiences. Based on Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET), it helps young individuals create a structured life story, integrating traumatic memories into a cohesive narrative. Through storytelling, guided reflection, and emotional processing, KIDSNET reduces distress, fosters resilience, and supports recovery from PTSD, anxiety, and trauma-related difficulties.
Why Early Intervention Matters
By offering age-appropriate, relational trauma care, we help young people regain control over their lives, strengthen family bonds, and access a brighter, more resilient future.
