Parent Support Groups for Child/Teen Trauma Support

A Safe Space for Parents of Children Who Have Experienced Trauma

At the Online Trauma Centre, we understand the complex emotions that come with supporting a child who has experienced trauma. Our Parent Support Groups provide a welcoming, confidential space where parents can come together to share experiences, find mutual support, and access expert guidance.

What to Expect

  • Monthly 90-Minute Sessions
Held from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM, these monthly gatherings foster connection and support.

  • Peer-Led Community with Professional Support
Groups will eventually be peer led with a qualified trauma therapist joining to answer questions and introduce evidence-based resources.

  • Focused on Trauma-Only Topics
Our groups are dedicated solely to trauma-related experiences. We do not address neurodivergence, eating disorders or other mental health conditions in children. For other specialisms please see our I Need Help Now page for referrals to specialist organisations.

  • Guest Experts and Future Skills Workshops
We are considering bringing in guest speakers from the trauma therapy if a need and launching an emotion regulation skills course (recorded and live) for parents to help you support yourself and your child through these challenging times.

Who Should Join?

These groups are designed for parents or caregivers of children and teens who have experienced trauma—whether due to abuse, neglect, domestic violence, medical trauma, accidents, bullying or other distressing experiences.

Note: These groups are not a replacement for individual therapy. They offer supplemental, community-based support.
