    Traumatologist and EMDR Therapist

My own journey through trauma has given me me an appreciation for the complexities it brings and the transformative power of healing. As a Trauma, EMDR and Relational Integrative Therapist, I draw from both professional expertise and personal experience to meet you where you are at with compassion and understanding.

    My Approach

My approach to working with trauma is rooted in authenticity, empathy and collaboration. Together we embark on a process of inner resourcing, healing and self-discovery. An important part of this work involves understanding how trauma affects the brain and nervous system. Drawing on neuroscience, I help clients make sense of their symptoms, triggers and emotional responses so that what once felt confusing or overwhelming begins to feel understandable and workable.

Many people I work with have experienced developmental or complex trauma, where difficult experiences occurred repeatedly or during important stages of emotional development. These experiences can shape patterns of thinking, feeling and relating that continue into adulthood. By understanding how the brain adapts to survive these environments, we can begin to gently update those patterns and support the nervous system in moving towards greater safety, flexibility and connection.

Trauma therapy is naturally more structured and directive than traditional counselling. This is because trauma memories can bring intense emotional and physical responses when revisited. A clear framework helps maintain safety, stability and focus while working with these experiences using evidence-based approaches.

My trauma work follows a three-phase model designed to support people with PTSD, Complex PTSD, or a lived experience of prolonged trauma.

Phase 1 focuses on assessment, psychoeducation and stabilisation. This includes learning about the impact of trauma on the brain and body, developing emotional regulation skills, and building a sense of internal safety and resilience.

If we both feel it is appropriate to move forward, Phase 2 focuses on processing traumatic memories using evidence-based therapies listed on the therapies page. This work is always collaborative and paced carefully to ensure you feel supported throughout.

Phase 3 focuses on integration. This stage often feels more reflective and similar to counselling. Together we explore how to strengthen new patterns, reduce the likelihood of relapse, and reconnect with parts of yourself that may have felt lost, unheard or pushed aside.

Trauma therapy often involves gentle practices or reflections between sessions to support the healing process. We can talk together about what feels manageable and helpful for you.

It is a privilege to sit alongside people as they reconnect with their strength, understanding and capacity to heal. If you feel ready to take a step towards recovery, I warmly invite you to get in touch. I believe that with the right support, every person has the potential for growth, compassion and meaningful change.
